The Department of Athletics will support the
university mission by developing and maintaining a top-quality Division II intercollegiate athletics program that is committed to providing
a positive and fulfilling academic and athletic experience for all student-athletes. As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
(RMAC) and the NCAA Division II, CSU Pueblo Athletics plays a supporting role in the higher education mission while enhancing a sense of
community, strengthening our identity and playing a prominent role in enrollment management for the University.
Primary
Duties Operations Coordinates team travel, scheduling, and logistics while overseeing home event management and
daily program operations. Assists with budget tracking, purchasing, and equipment management, and provides administrative and compliance
support. Serves as a liaison with athletic department units and ensures adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA
policies.
Coaching Assists with planning and conducting practices and competitions while developing student-athlete
skills, conditioning, and strategy. Supports meet preparation and provides mentorship, including monitoring academic progress and overall
student-athlete development.
Recruiting Identifies and recruits prospective student-athletes, maintains communication
with recruits and families, and coordinates recruiting visits. Tracks recruiting activity and ensures compliance with NCAA and institutional
guidelines.
Ancillary Duties Other duties as assigned by the Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach and/or
Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from a
four-year accredited institution
- Willing and able to work nights and weekends
- Physical ability to fulfill duties of the
position including lifting up to 50 lbs. and having the mobility needed to demonstrate skills and movement required in
practices/contests
- Able to demonstrate successful skills in cooperation, organization, communication and problem
solving
- Able to be successful in a work environment reflective of CSU Pueblo
- At least 2 years of experience at the high
school or collegiate level in track and field
Preferred Qualifications - Successful experience coaching at the
collegiate level in track & field/cross country
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to motivate, teach, and counsel
student-athletes
- Previous experience recruiting NCAA qualified student-athletes.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and
regulations
- Strong management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Experience as an assistant track and field
coach
- Experience working with populations reflective of CSU Pueblo students

Salary $30,000-$36,000
